Dr. LaCrosse mentors both Undergraduate and Graduate students in research. Students have the opportunity to gain hands-on research experience, participate in focused discussion groups, present at local and national conferences, and make scholarly contributions to science.

CURRENT PROJECTS
GRADUATE RESEARCH
Rebecca's thesis project consists of looking at the ST3GAL3 gene at specific SNP, rs3952787, to see if it could potentially predict attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety, and depression.
Alex's thesis studies how epigenetic factors impacts GABAergic metabolism in PTSD. Specifically, how Fluoxetine and Ketamine impact the functional status of parvalbumin networks in the central fear memory circuit.
Heba's thesis is on the MTHFR gene mutation at SNP C677T and how it potentially correlates with symptoms of ADHD, anxiety, and depression.
UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH
Molly, Caden, and Haley evaluate the abuse potential of Gabapentin in combination with Buprenorphine using Conditioned Place Preference (CPP) in mice.
Luz and Emily measure the effects of acute R-S Ketamine and chronic Fluoxetine on fear behavior in mice.
Andrew and Graham are using a delayed match-to-sample operant task to assess working memory in mice.
